JOYFUL TRUST
JOYFUL TRUST
Key Scripture: Romans 8:28
“And we know that for those who love God all things work
together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose”
What’s the ‘thing’? The outcome. The situation. The fear. The struggle.
The thing that you are holding on to. The thing that you’re trying to control.
For months (far too many than I’d like to admit), I tried to have some control
over the situation that I was in. It was an extremely difficult season of life and I
was doing the only thing that I knew how—control as much as I could so that I
felt as safe as possible. Seems like a harmless response, right? But it was actually
exhausting- mentally, physically, and spiritually. When we constantly try to
control things, solve problems, and plan on our own, we are admitting that we
don’t trust God. It wasn’t until I fully surrendered to God all control that I felt
true peace over the situation. I was finally trusting God with my life, and He so
graciously filled me with joy.
What’s the ‘thing’ that you need to give up control over? I’m not promising you
that it will be easy. I’m not promising you that the end result will be what you
thought you wanted. But you can find peace knowing that God works all things
for good. Even though we may never understand the how or why. Trust Him.
Go find that quiet space and pray through these: A.C.T.S.

2. Praise God for His presence
Confession:
1. Any thought of control that you’re holding on to
2. Your tendency to trust yourself more than Him

1. Thank God for His Spirit guiding your thoughts
2. Thank God for His Word strengthening you

1. Ask God to fill you with peace when letting go of the ‘thing’

In Jesus' name, AMEN!
