When You Don't Know What to Pray
WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO PRAY
Key Scripture: Matthew 21:22
“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith”
Has there ever been a time in your life when you just didn’t know what or how to pray? We will all face difficult circumstances in life, whether it’s a sudden financial hardship or a constant health problem. These moments can sometimes be so overwhelming that we don’t even have the words to pray.
There is no such thing as a perfect prayer. The purpose of prayer is for us to have a closer relationship with God. He already knows our hearts, our troubles, and our desires. He wants a deep, intimate relationship with us. Don’t let the thought of not having a perfect prayer stop you for praying at all. Sometimes your prayers may be a simple as, “God, I need your help.” He hears you.
So, go find your quiet space to be with God and pray through these: A.C.T.S.
Adoration:
Praise God for His grace
Praise God for always being with us
Confession:
Any guilt of not having a ‘perfect’ prayer life
Your ability to be distracted & not make your relationship with God a priority
Thanksgiving:
Thank God for wanting an intimate relationship with us
Thank God for His mercy
Supplication:
Ask God to show up in ways throughout your day that remind you to pray
Ask God to fill you with His Spirit to lead you when you don’t have the words to pray
In Jesus' name, AMEN!
