He Is Always Working - Day 19

- Marcie Wright

HE IS ALWAYS WORKING

Key Scripture: Philippians 1:6

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus."

All I can say is, "THANK GOODNESS LORD!" There are many times in this journey, it "feels" like I am taking "one step forward and two steps back." Do you ever feel that way? Some kind of situation or circumstance blindsides me or presents itself in a way I have not anticipated. At that moment, my response is, "Are you kidding, LORD? It's two steps back, now! I am so flippin' tired!"

But here's the deal...I have a tendency to rely on feelings instead of TRUTH. ABBA, FATHER never changes and is fiercely working for me. After all, He did send His son to die for me! Those "two steps back" are never opposite to God working. It may feel like it's backwards, but not to WHO God is and HOW He loves us. He is always at work- this is the TRUTH as we CHOOSE to PRESS into Him! He will bring it to completion.

Just a couple of action responses about how to PRESS into God:

1. Choose Him and not our feelings - this is NOT invalidating your feelings, but covering them with Jesus & Truth

2. Press hard into Him through His Word

3. Press hard into Him through Prayer - TALK WITH HIM - as God spoke with Moses (Exodus 33:11)

4. Press hard into Him through HIS PEOPLE - TALK WITH THEM - face to face.

Stop. Breathe. Listen. Talk with Him through A.C.T.S.

Adoration:

Praise Him that he doesn't tire

Praise Him that His love is Fierce

Praise Him that He is about being with us for eternity

Confession:

When I run with my "feeling baton"

When I don't stop and remember WHO He says I am

When I don't remember how you have always been with me

Thanksgiving:

For His patience with me

For His mercy and forgiveness

That He has eternity in mind for me

Supplication:

That we can be a people who TRUST Him before anything

Humbleness to seek wisdom in His Word, through Prayer, and His People

To have eyes beyond what we see

In Jesus' name, AMEN!
